Our Cottages
Some say the holiday starts on the boat but certainly as soon as you get off the Arran ferry and make the short journey to your accommodation at Rowanbank House and Studio you will know you have arrived on a very special island.
'Scotland in miniature', as Arran is known, offers everything for which Scotland as a nation is known and loved. Castles, mountains, beaches, golf courses, distilleries and extraordinary wildlife (red deer, golden eagles, red squirrels, otters, seals and sea birds).
For decades, these cottages have been providing the perfect base for guests to explore this majestic island and enjoy a truly Scottish holiday experience.
Situated less than a mile from the ferry terminal and opposite Brodick golf course, Rowanbank House and Studio provide views across Brodick Bay and Goat Fell. From the cottages it only takes five to ten minutes on foot to reach Brodick's shops and restaurants and Auchrannie Country Club indoor pools and leisure facilities.
Whether travelling by car, bus, bike or on foot, the cottages are the ideal base from which to discover the Isle of Arran, its nature and the activities for which it is renowned.
Initially built as a summer house, the House is a sympathetically restored, traditional, red sandstone cottage.
With three public rooms, it is hardly surprising that a lot of guests find the House is much more spacious than expected. 'Much bigger than it looks' is how many describe it.
The original fireplace and warm decor throughout contribute to the traditional, cosy feel of this perfect example of a classic island cottage.
The Studio is believed to have been the original boathouse to the summer house and has been carefully converted into a modern retreat for singles or couples.
'Small but perfectly formed' is how a lot of our guests describe it.
The soft, neutral tones bring a calm warmth to the cosy living area and the double glass doors offer a view over the golf course to Brodick Bay.
